People say the weirdest things to me at the gym.

They must get nervous or something?

I had a guy come up to me between squat sets and he tells me that he remembers me from when my boyfriend and I first starting going to that gym. And that he thought it was cool that we were still working hard.

Cool. Cool Cool cool.

And then he proceeds to tell me that he can tell that I have filled out.

I don’t think he quite chose his words properly because he proceeded to stutter over the next sentence which was something about him and how he use to weight 150 lbs.

But seriously. Filled out? I have no idea how to reply to that.

  2. jspeck said: If you were meaner you could have really messed with him at that point. “So you’re saying I’m fat!?” There is literally no good way to respond to that question.
  3. iron-inside said: He probably meant “bulked up” or something along those lines. Sounds like the poor fellow knew he’d said the wrong thing. :-/
  4. turbogirl said: LOL I have seen my own bf say something totally awkward to a girl by accident a few years ago, and it still makes me laugh. *shakes head*
  5. nottheruttles said: Er… kinda hard to say something after that.
